Carshalton Festival
Carshalton City Limits
Scarred For Life

Hello everybody. There's a lot of activity in the Logo Fiasco universe at the moment, and now that summer is upon us it's about time we told you about a few of the happenings we have planned over the coming months, and there is a lot to tell ...

First up there is the Carshalton Festival. Plans have been afoot since the tail end of 2025, so it's nice to finally reveal what we have coming up. The Festival itself is a 9-day event, taking in art, music, film and theatre at a huge number of venues across Carshalton, beginning on Saturday June 27th and drawing to a close on Sunday 5th July. For details of the festival as a whole, visit https://www.carshaltonfestival.com/

As for our own events, we'll be kicking things off in the shop on the afternoon of Saturday 27th June with the launch of a zine that we've been working on for the past few months. All will be revealed in due course ...

The River - Neal Vaughan

Following that we will be hosting the premiere of 'The River', a brilliantly evocative film made by our good friend, muliti-media artist Neal Vaughan.

A deft weaving of time-lapse film, animation, field recording and ambient electronica takes us on a journey along our beloved River Wandle, the 'Oasis in the middle of the chaos'. The film is an insight into both Neal's work and working practices, and the inspiration that nature can have on all of us.

Tickets are now sold out for the night, but you will still get the chance to see it at other venues in the near future.

Tyla

Hot on The River's heals, on Sunday 28th June we will be holding our first live music event, featuring the supremely gifted young singer & songwriter Tyla Marilyn.

Already attracting major attention, including a BBC Introducing 'Track of the Day' accolade on two occasions, Tyla has a bright future ahead, and you can see her perform a live acoustic set in-store on 28th June at 2pm, admission is free.

We Who Hunger

Also on Sunday 28th June, we will be hosting another film premiere - 'We Who Hunger', written and directed by Heironymous Glover, made in collaboration with the Brit School, and starring Gabriel Parsons, Nicolas Deeks and Panos Booth.

' 'WE WHO HUNGER' is the highly. anticipated new Folk Horror film by The Exuberant Moose, releasing on May 30th, based on Vampires, Cults and Paganism.'

You can catch a sneek peak by clicking here. It's sure to appeal to Cult Film Club attendees and fans of folk-horror in general. Tickets available via the link on the pic.

Carshalton City Limits

Our next event is a biggie. On Friday July 3rd - as part of the wider 'Carshalton Crawl' event on the same night - we will be teaming up with our pals Looking For The Magic for an extra-special night of live music to be held 'up west' at The Windsor Castle pub, Carshalton Road. Featuring 10 brilliant acts, including Hannah Scott, Annie Dresner and Mr Danny George Wilson himself, across 2 stages.

We'll be running a merch stand and playing some tunes, along with our guest DJ's Opal X, Vic Mars and Stonecirclesampler.

Entry is free. For more details of this and the other Carshalton Crawl venues and gigs, see the Carshalton Festival website.

Opal X

For our last event as hosts, we are thrilled to say that our pal Astrud will be performing as Opal X, live in-store on the afternoon of Sunday July 5th.

"Astrud Steehouder’s Opal X project presents Swandive, the debut of new piece of Lynchian electronics and guitar drones, blending elements of shoegaze with 80s electro synth-pop and goth post-punk."

What isn't to like about that, we ask ourselves. Once again admission is free, so head to the shop on 5th July, showtime 2pm.

And with that one last special event, the curtain will fall on the Festival, or our part in it at least. Everybody should then head to All Saints church at 5pm to catch 'Collectronica', a fittingly atmospheric finale for what is shaping up to be a week to remember.

So that's the summer events wrapped up, but it doesn't end there for us. On 29th October is the one event we've been planning for the longest. What started as a seemingly unlikely idea first aired over a pint about a year ago, is now a reality - 'Scarred For Life' is coming to Carshalton!

Scarred For Life

For anyone who grew up 'In The Dark Side of the 70's & 80's' or with with an interest in Folk-horror, cult film and the darker corners of 1970's and 80's TV, this show is for you.

A multuimedia extravaganza that is equal parts comedy, horror and nostalgia, The Carshalton Cult Film Club have summoned Bob Fischer and Stephen Brotherstone to bring their hugely popular podcast to the main theatre at CryerArts for this Folk Horror special on Thursday 29th October.

Just in time for Halloween ...

The Haunted Generation

"When it comes to vintage creepiness, “Folk Horror” has become a thrilling genre in its own right. From terrifying films like The Wicker Man and Witchfinder General to the weird folklore of The Owl Service and even the gentle thrills of Worzel Gummidge, the popular culture of the late 20th century is riddled with dark magic and eerie stone circles. And, indeed, a feeling that something ancient and distinctly unpleasant lies just beneath the soil.

Since 2017, Stephen Brotherstone has been expertly chronicling the terrifying popular culture of the 1970s and ‘80s as co-writer of the acclaimed Scarred For Life books. Fortean Times columnist Bob Fischer, meanwhile, is the creator of The Haunted Generation, a multi-media exploration of the weirder side of the 1970s childhood.

In this fun but informative show, Stephen and Bob will be unearthing the twisted, buried artefacts of Folk Horror. Penda’s Fen, Robin Redbreast and the BBC’s classic Ghost Stories For Christmas are all in their sights, together with more recent additions like Midsommer and Enys Men. And, of course, the recently-unearthed “lost” Folk Horror classic, Sex Witches of the Fens.

Afterwards there'll be a Q&A, so feel free to chip in with your own thoughts on the genre. And, indeed, to let us know if you’re concerned about the strange whistle you’ve just uncovered on the beach… "

Tickets are available here and via the CryerArts website.

PLUS -

We will have an exclusive album from Stonecirclesampler available to anyone with a ticket for the Scarred For Life show. Available only on the night, and copies will be strictly limited.

More details to follow :)

Well I think that's enough info to impart for now, so we will leave you to add dates to your diaries, book tickets and generally look forward to all the wonderful events that are coming your way.

With that we bid you farewell, and will leave you with this image, the famous, or infamous 'Catkin Photograph', otherwise known as the 'Carshalton Sigil' or 'Grotto Glyph'. But more about that another time.

Take care folks, we'll see you soon :)
